A 30 minute drive from your apartment to the summit to view Hobart and surrounds. Take some photos and take some warm clothes (the breeze can be chilly). If its a cloudy day, alternative viewing locations are Mt Nelson Signal Station or Knocklofty Park in West Hobart.

Sullivans Cove waterfront, Salamanca Market, and more
An easy 10 minute walk will take you to the historic and vibrant Sullivans Cove waterfront precinct. Catch a ferry to MONA or Peppermint Bay.Organise a cruise to Tasman or Bruny Island. Visit the Tourist Information Centre for lots of information on boutique tours, bus trips, tickets etc. Wander around Salamanca Market on Saturdays or visit Mawson’s Hut, the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery or Maritime Museum. Indulge and eat out at one of many award winning cafes and restaurants around the waterfront and Battery Point.

The Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) is located within the Moorilla winery on the Berriedale peninsula in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It is the largest privately funded museum in Australia. The museum presents antiquities, modern and contemporary art from the David Walsh collection.

Cascade Brewery
Visit Australia’s oldest brewery and participate in a brewery tour and tastings. Its only a 10 minute drive from your apartment, or an easy 20-30 minute walk along the Rivulet Track opposite.

Port Arthur Historic Site
The Port Arthur Historic Site is one of Australia’s most important heritage sites and an iconic tourist destination. It is approximately 100km south east of Hobart on the scenic Tasman Peninsula in the south east of Tasmania. The site is for all ages. Children can go on a love token treasure hunt and those with mobility issues can tour by golf buggy.
A visit to Port Arthur and the Tasman Peninsula is a whole day trip. Sometimes mobile phone coverage can be patchy. Exploring the area can include a scenic Tasman Island cruise, visiting natural rock formations and beaches, a ghost tour, enjoying the sensations of a lavender farm or coming face to face with Tasmanian Devils at a wildlife park.
Port Arthur is about a 1.45 hour drive from Hobart.

Cascade Female Factory
The Cascades Female Factory is Australia’s most significant historic site associated with female convicts. It was purpose built to reform female convicts and is the place to discover the stories of Australia’s convict women. Thousands of women and children were imprisoned there, and many never left due to high rates of illness and infant mortality.
The best way is to join a tour to hear of the many tragic and inspirational stories.

Mt Field National Park & Russell Falls
Mt Field National Park is one of Tasmania’s most loved national parks. The park has a wide variety of scenic features and wildlife. Near the park entrance there are picnic facilities and the famous Russell Falls. You can go on stunning walks through enormous fern forests and some of the tallest trees in the world. Lake Dobson is another area of the park that includes the long day walks and skiing areas where you can see dramatic mountain scenery and alpine plants in the highlands.
While visiting the area, stop at the Salmon Ponds to feed the fish and have a coffee.

Tahune Airwalk
Cable hang gliding, swinging bridges, bushwalking, scenic airwalk and bike tracks through beautiful native Tahune Forest Reserve in the Huon Valley. A 90 minute drive south of Hobart.
Bruny Island, Tasmania, Australia
Bruny Island
Bruny Island is Tasmania’s premier island destination where you can experience wilderness on one of the many Bruny Island bushwalks. Catch an award winning eco-cruise or tour that explores the stunning coastline, see fur seals, fairy penguins, white wallaby and opportunities for birdwatching. Bruny Island offers locally produced food – hand made fudge, chocolate, truffles, berries, cheese and fresh oysters. Bruny Island is also home to Australia’s southern-most vineyard.
Bruny Island is a whole day trip. There is a 40 minute drive to Kettering from Hobart, plus a 20 minute car ferry crossing on the Mirambeena.

Dark MOFO Festival
Wander down to the waterfront or visit other specific locations across Hobart for Mona’s midwinter festival “Dark Mofo”. This is an annual festival celebrating the dark through large-scale public art, food, film, music, light and noise. The festival concludes with the City of Hobart Dark Mofo Winter Feast, and Nude Solstice Swim, plus more.
For 2016 Dark Mofo runs June 10-21 with major exhibitions at Mona and Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, a new exhibition at the historic mental asylum Willow Court, a public art playground at Dark Park, international music shows at The Odeon Theatre, MAC2 and Federation Concert Hall.

The Tasmanian Hockey Centre is a world class facility, bar/bistro, under-cover grandstand for watching games. Venue for school, local, interstate and national competitions for juniors through to masters.

Long course 50m competition pool, short course 25m pool, diving platforms, learn to swim and casual swimming, water aerobics, gym, sauna, café, child care centre and beauty salon. School holiday ‘Splash’ inflatable water fun.
Local, state and national swimming, water polo, underwater hockey, diving competitions etc.
The aquatic centre is a 3 – 10 minute drive from our apartments depending on traffic and a 20 – 25 minute walk.
